Released in 2013 the Precious Mineral Any Cushion is the classic version of the many various Precious Mineral Cushions that Etude House has on offer. They recently released “Pearl Aura” any cushion which offers more of a glow. But as I use make up mainly for work I wanted a more understated look so went with the classic version. The great thing Is though is that once you’ve bought one compact you can fit any of the Precious Mineral cushion lines into it! So you can go and try different types by buying the cheaper refills rather than forking out for a compact each time.
My Mac match is NC15 for reference.
Brand Statement
This flawless cushion foundation creates beautiful pearly bright skin with its full coverage and smoothing effects.
Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide: Both of these ingredients are protection against the sun. Given the amount you’ll put on they’re not enough to forgo your suncream step, but good to know there’s added protection in your cushion!
Niacinamide: This is a well known beneficial skin care ingredient. It can improve the skin’s elasticity and help even out skintone.

Nice standard cushion packaging with a mirror and a separate flip out for the dual air puff to live. I like the compact shape of this as it’s easy to transport and is small enough to fit into my clutches. Simple design, no frills attached, but practical and sturdy. They’re currently selling a prettier cushion case on their website “Dreaming Swan”, which you can fill with Precious Mineral Cushion refills. http://www.etudehouse.com/index.php/dreaming-swan-any-cushion-case.html
Product & Scent
15g of product isn’t a lot! But the cushion is soaked in the foundation. I flip my cushion to ensure that I’m able to get as much use from it as possible.
Scent is powdery, not offensive to me but there is a slight floral powder scent here.
Slightly dismantled! To show the cushion size and how I flip it.
Directions of Use
Lightly pat this onto your face using the air puff as needed. Press harder onto the cushion if you require more product.
Bottom half has the cushion on. You can see it's a light dewy coverage.
Review
Cushion only!
The application was light and didn’t look cakey, it made me realise how streaky my previous application of foundation looked. It covered up my red blemishes without drawing attention to it. Has a matte finish, though not as matte as western products. I always apply moisturiser and primer before putting on any foundation, this product in itself isn’t hydrating enough. The downfall I found I was needing to top up after 4-5 hours. As I work an 11 hour job this isn’t ideal so I’m going to try out some other cushions and see if I’ll be able to find my perfect longwear match there. I also have combination skin type, and pretty soon my forehead and nose were shiny, so I don’t think it has much sebum control.
For those with darker skin tones I’d give this a miss though. They only have a limited 4 colour selection and I think this runs closer to pale.
Pros
+ Flawless Application
+ Good Packing
+ Lightweight
+ Affordable
Cons
- Not Longlasting
- Light Coverage
- Small Amount of Product
- Doesn’t Reduce Oiliness
Rating:4/5
Just foundation, be kind >.<
Final Thoughts
I would definitely buy this product again! As a cushion it fulfilled all the needs that I wanted from it. Packaging is useful for transportation and top ups. Given the fact it only lasts 4-5 hours on me I’m going to try out some other cushions and see if I’ll be able to find my perfect longwear match there. I would love to find a cushion which has sebum control in it as well. For now I’m going to continue to use my InnisFree Sebum Control powder on top of this cushion.
